All things have limitations and NextGen Widget RegEx Generator is no exception. This application was primarily made for developers to help them with the RegEx patterns. It was not really designed to stream large files but can handle large files for the most part, but is AS IS. However, if the file is too large the user will get a notification and can continue to proceed but the application may lock up until the process is completed. Your computer should not be locked up unless you don't have sufficient memory.


However, we tested a file size of 68 MB RTF file with images and it loaded fairly quickly even though we mentioned the limit should be about 50 MB.


Now, the limitations are not just file size. Here's where most of the problem actually exists and that's with an RTF file that has many pages.  For example we have an RTF file that has 5082 pages. This will freeze the application and takes about 16 seconds to load. These pages were all text. The "Test Removal" process can take some time as well with over 5000 pages but generally doesn't freeze the program at this point for more than a few seconds. One benefit at this point is you will see a progress bar which will give you a pretty good idea about the progress which can take over two and a half minutes before you see the "Processing Completed Successfully!" message, but you will not see the message (This file is XMB and may take time to load. Proceed?) Message because the file size itself is only 18 MB.
